Quantum provides detailed structural seismic upgrades and evaluation reports for religious and other facilities on a regular basis. Current projects of this type include ongoing work with the facilities managers for several church complexes. We are routinely contacted to perform structural seismic evaluations when a significant improvement or maintenance project is being considered for a particular facility. For example, re-roofing projects present an economical opportunity to seismically strengthen the building by adding additional roof to wall connections from the roof without disturbing the interior building finishes.

Our detailed analysis includes a review of the available drawings, a site visit to determine the condition of the buildings and performing calculations in accordance with ASCE/SEI 41-06. The evaluation includes checklists which describe the building construction and notes visual deficiencies. The report includes seismic calculations and an evaluation of the buildings elements and connections used to resist the calculated seismic forces. Where deficiencies are found, corrective measures are recommended along with sketches of plans and details suitable for preliminary pricing.
