BP Cherry Point Articulating Gangway

Quantum Consulting Engineers provided a project design peer review of the structural design and performance of the south dock accommodation ladder (gangway) at the BP Cherry Point refinery in Birch Bay, Washington. 

The gangway was constructed to serve as a means of pedestrian access between the dock and various marine vessels ranging from the new (tall) Alaska-class tankers as well as the much lower barge-type vessels.  The gangway structure is unique and extremely complex due to the accommodation of these large elevation differences and various space and design objectives.
