SEA-TAC Termingal Expansion Project (STEP) - Concourse A
SeaTac, WA | Architect: NBBJ | Completion Date:
Quantum principal, Dan Fenton served as project manager for the structural design of the two-story, steel-framed concourse A with 14 gates as part of a $243-million airport expansion. The concourse features moving walkways, public meeting space, restaurants, and retail. The structure was seismically isolated from the existing passenger terminal. Design challenges included spanning the existing subway tunnel, coordinating work with baggage handling systems, the mechanical, electrical and communication systems, and phased demolition of the original five previous constructions dating back to 1948 terminal construction. *Dan performed this project while employed with another firm.
